This hourglass-shaped dulcimer has 2" deep sides and is 35" long, is made from selected sustainable harvest domestic hardwoods and softwoods. Bookmatched grain, two-piece backs and tops provide exquisite sound and beauty. All solid wood construction. We feature the beautiful soundhole artistry of Master Luthier Donna Ford on all of our instruments. In 1970 Donna looked at the soundhole designs that were commonly available and realized that the dulcimer was unique in the opportunity it provided for artistic top design. As her unique designs came to life we also discovered that on a dulcimer multiple smaller soundholes result in a more balanced richer tone.
